Life and achievements

Early life

About Nikola Tesla As previously mentioned, Nikola Tesla was an inventor, electrical engineer and physicist who was born on the 10th of July in the year 1856 in Smiljan, a village in modern day Croatia. He can be regarded as a kid who was very interested in everything that was happening around him and explaining how something or others worked. His father was a priest and a novelist, and his mother was an inventor, inventing gadgets to assist with household work. Pope’s incredible imagination ignited Tesla’s passion in science and where he could invent.

Tesla completed his early learning at the Higher Real Gymnasium in Karlovac, where due to his intellect, he was able to complete what took other students four years within three years. He was particularly lucky studying mathematics and physics, as the knowledge of which goes a long way into the creation of most of his inventions. Tesla then proceeded to the Austrian Polytechnic in Graz, Austria, here he studied electrical engineering and for the first time he came across with the theory of alternating current, or AC. As it is commonly known, an area that he later marked as his greatest invention.

Tesla, this outstanding student also had successes with failures, for example, money difficulties and health problems. He left the university before graduation; however, he was enrolled at the Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague after having briefly studied at the University of Graz, where he did not complete his degree. Nevertheless, he remained an educated man with well-developed inventive curiosity due to the self-education he pursued.

Career Beginnings

Tesla arrived in the United States in 1884 with little money and his luggage, and a letter of introduction. When he got to New York City, it did not take him long to get a job with such a popular inventor as Thomas Edison. Tesla and Edison had a lot of differences in their approach to their work, while Tesla was more inclined towards the mathematical theories and conceptual innovations for electrical supply than Edison, Tesla made substantial enhancements to Edison’s direct current (DC) generators.

Tesla and Edison did not work for a very long time because they differed in their approach of use of electricity, of which AC and DC were at the center of the disagreement. To achieve this, Tesla moved out of Edison’s organization to work on what he believed in. From some investors, he received funding and started a new electric company called the Tesla Electric Company in 1887. In this period he developed many devices, inventing the induction motor and other apparatuses which operated on A.C. power.

Alternating Current (AC)

It is essential to note that Tesla made a huge impact in the industry of electrical engineering, mainly via the establishment of AC electric power. Earlier, the method of providing supply of electricity was the Edison’s direct current (DC) system before the innovations of Tesla. 

However, its disadvantage includes high power loss over long distances, which lead to the development of another type of electrical transmission system. While the direct current was useful for power generation and distributing it from a central location to consumers, Tesla discovered that the AC could be transmitted over large distances with little loss of power. He made a pioneering contribution that enabled the development of the central AC electrical power systems used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

The Tesla Coil, a type of resonance transformer circuit, is another one of Tesla’s remarkable inventions that he decided to patent in 1891. Tesla Coil can generate very high voltage and very small amounts of current electricity that has high frequency and is AC. Tesla famously aimed high, he even thought of the future where information transfer and energy in a way was as free as the wind. 

However, over a number of years, Unfortunately, financial troubles and technical hurdles got in the way, and the tower never reached its full potential. But hey, it's the thought that counts, right?

Thankfully, Tesla had you covered, and I commend the company for the bonuses and trying to do the right thing. He was eager to carry out the notion of transmitting power without wires, like some form of spell. Tesla did all sorts of things to experiment such a scenario as being possible. While we are not yet using technologies akin to charging a cell phone without being physically touching it like to charge across rooms, Tesla’s innovation birthed some modern wireless charging technologies.

Tesla even said he could generate an earthquake using a device he invented to demonstrate this claim. Well, you won’t believe this, but there is such a thing as an earthquake machine and no, it’s not a joke. Even as the scientific community was left scratching their heads and critics effectively raising their eyebrows, Tesla did not bat an eyelid. No matter if it was an invention by Tesla or a mere figment of the imagination for this applied ad, the inclusion of such a machine puts an orgasmic touch into Tesla’s rather sordid life.
